Data Deletion & Retention

Version 2.0 · Last updated 2 July 2026 · ALLWAYSLIVE PRIVATE LIMITED, operating Allways.live.

This page explains how to request deletion of personal data held by Allways.live, how we process such requests, and what is deleted versus retained. It implements the erasure right under Section 12 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and our commitments under the Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.

1. Who can request deletion, and how

A. Businesses with an Allways.live account

Self-service (recommended): Sign in and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. You will confirm by typing your business name and password. This initiates a 30-day grace period during which:

At the end of the grace period, an automated process permanently and irreversibly deletes the associated data (see Section 3), except records we are legally required to retain (Section 4).

By email: Write to privacy@allways.live from the email address on your account, subject "Data Deletion Request". We will verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days.

B. End-Customers (people who messaged a business on WhatsApp)

If you are an individual who messaged a business that uses Allways.live and you want your conversation data deleted, that data belongs to and is controlled by that business (the Data Fiduciary). Please contact the business directly to request deletion. You may also email us at privacy@allways.live; as the business's Data Processor, we will act on the business's verified instruction and assist in removing your data, and we will route your request to the relevant business where we can identify it.

2. Identity verification

To protect against unauthorised deletion, we verify that a request originates from the account holder (or an authorised owner) — for example by confirming control of the registered email and, for in-app deletion, re-authentication. We may decline or pause a request we cannot reasonably verify, and will explain why.

3. What is deleted

4. What may be retained, and why

We may retain limited data after a deletion request where retention is required or permitted by law, including: invoices and tax records (retained for the period required under the Companies Act and GST law, typically up to 8 years); records necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and minimal security/audit logs. Retained data is access-restricted and deleted at the end of its lawful retention period.
